We are the only air ambulance provider with a green mandate
Reducing our carbon footprint
Traveling by an airplane is, unfortunately, carbon intensive. However Mercy Jets is taking steps to help reduce its carbon footprint through innovative programs, such as Taxi 1, and making sensible changes in our operating environment all the while increasing your safety in the air.
Some of the steps that we have taken are:
- Using flight planning software which helps us find the most efficient route and altitude to fly. Reducing your time in the air and the amount of fuel we consume.
- Our Taxi 1 initiative encourages our pilots to ground taxi with only one engine running, eliminating unnecessary fuel consumption.
- When available, Mercy Jets will use ground support equipment in lieu of running auxiliary power systems on the airplane.
- Our operations center makes extensive use energy efficient devices, such as LED lighting and CFL bulbs.
- As a company we strive to maintain a "paperless office" as much as feasible. Increasing the speed with which we can access your data while protecting the environment.
- As new aircraft are acquired we ensure that the engines that are to be used are as fuel efficient as possible
- Mercy Jets has made a financial commitment to 1% for the planet which helps support environmental organizations worldwide to create a healthier planet.
