John Bohn+, president of Mercy Jets, has a strong background and long career in aviation. He has formally acted as Director of Operations / Chief Pilot for a national company and was the Assistant Chief Pilot of an internationally recognized flight training school. He was a certified flight instructor and holds a FAA first class medical certification.
Bohn grew up in a family full of healthcare professionals, and is a former emergency medical technician (EMT). Bohn has combined his medical interest, knowledge and expertise in directing flight departments for national companies to build a BBB A rated company that puts patients’ needs and safety at the highest priority. As president of Mercy Jets, Bohn oversees day-to-day operations, ensures that medical escort and jet flight personnel have received proper training and is personally involved in all Mercy Jets flights. He also ensures compliance with Arizona state laws and federal laws.
Bohn holds a bachelor of science degree from Arizona State University and has served as both an airline Captain and First Officer at American Eagle Airlines as well as various positions at Premium Aviation and American Flyers. He also served as an assistant crew chief in the U.S. Air Force, helping to coordinate special tactical missions and evacuations during Operation Restore Hope.
