• What is an Air Ambulance

  An Air Ambulance is a business class aircraft, such as a Lear Jet or Gulfstream which has had it's interior reconfigured with medical equipment to allow us to provide you with the proper medical treatment while we transport you in the safest, quickest and most comfortable fashion available to you.

• What Services are Provided

  Mercy Jets is here to help transport you in the quickest, safest and most effective way possible. We understand that your situation is unique and will coordinate your trip to fit your needs and that of your loved ones, Bedside to Beside. Mercy Jets will arrange all of your transportation needs, including coordinating ground transfers, customs (if necessary), arranging for family, friend and yes, even pets. All you need to do is choose a receiving hospital and physician, time and date. Mercy Jets can even help you select the best facilities for you and your condition.

• What does it mean to provide Bedside to Bedside service?

  Mercy Jets provides the safest transportation in the industry, by accompanying you during every stage of your journey. Our medical teams will meet you at the discharging facility, and accompany you until you reach your destination. Not just the airport in the city, but to your room. It is incredibly important to us for your medical care to be as seamless as possible when transporting you and ensuring the receiving facility receives all of your details upon your arrival.

• How much notice does Mercy Jets need to arrange an medical flight transfer?

  Mercy Jets flight coordinators and case managers are on call 24 hours a day, every day. We promise to relieve you of your burdens in meeting your transportation needs and act on your behalf, and your best interest to get you to your destination as quickly as possible.

• Can a family members or friends travel with the patient?

  Absolutely! We even would encourage it. At this critical time we understand your need to be around your loved ones, whether it be family, friends, or even a pet. It is our job to take care of you in the best possible manner available. The only limitation would be the size of aircraft used and the medical equipment needed to transport safely.

• Are there other options besides air ambulance that Mercy Jets can help me with?

  Depending on the time available to transport you, we can help arrange other types of medical transportation and medical escorts as determined by your personal needs.

• How much will an air ambulance cost me?

• Will Mercy Jets help me to determine whether my insurance will cover the charges?

  Mercy Jets will go far beyond helping you to just determine whether or not your medical insurance will cover your transportation. We will use are close relationships with insurance companies to ensure you receive the benefits you are entitled too.

• What forms of payment are accepted?

  Understanding that this is not an event that can be budget for, Mercy Jets works with our clients to provide the fastest and safest form of travel to get you, or your loved one, into the best possible hands for your urgent care. We will work with you to develop the most cost efficient transportation package.

  For your convince we accept various forms of payments, including:

• What services are included in the price quote?

  All transportation charges are included in our price quote to you. Including ground transportation, flight charges, medical teams, and medications. On certain occasions, our clients may need even more individualized care, in which case we ensure that you would be aware of any additional charges before your flight. There are no hidden costs and no surprises.

• Will my private insurance company pay for my air ambulance transfer?

  Insurance companies recognize the efficiencies of Mercy Jets and in most case will cover the cost of transportation. But as you many know the waters surrounding private insurance companies can be murky and you have other things to focus on. That's is why Mercy Jets will not only file your claim, but use our extensive knowledge and relationships to expedite payment and if needed, to fight aggressively on your behalf, at no additional cost to you. Mercy Jets will take care of working with your insurance company so you can take care of what is most important to you.

• How many medical personnel accompany the patient?

  At Mercy Jets, your safety and health are our number 1 priorities. To ensure that you receive the best care we always use a minimum of two medical personnel on each flight. If your condition requires specialized care during a flight we will insure the appropriate medical specialist is with you to ensure your safety, comfort and peace of mind.

• Why do I need an air ambulance?

  If you become ill or injured while traveling away from home.

  If you require time critical, specialized, or extensive care.

  If you become ill or critically injured and cannot be transported by commercial means.

• What else do I need to arrange or do before my flight?

  There are only three additional things to be arrange after you call Mercy Jets:

  1) Decide on a time and date for your transfer,
  2) Decide on a receiving facility,
  3) and lastly decide on a physician at your destination.

  And if you are unsure of where you need to go to receive the best possible care, Mercy Jets would be happy to help you select the best facility to meet your needs.

• What equipment and medications are on board the aircraft?

  All transports are equipped with Advanced Life Support (ALS) medical equipment. The medical equipment consists of, but is not limited to, cardiac monitor and defibrillators, full ACLS pharmacy and IV solutions and pain management medications, advanced airway management equipment including- intubations equipment, respirator/ventilator, bi-pap, airway equipment, portable suction and bag-valve mask resuscitators, cervical immobilization equipment for those that need to be secured, FAA approved stretchers, and any specialized equipment or medications needed to transfer you safely.
